The LUCA Awards 2022

Updated: Mar 31, 2023

Luca Pacioli was an Italian mathematician, Franciscan friar and friends with Leonardo da Vinci. He is known as the father of accounting and bookkeeping and was the first person to publish a work on double-entry bookkeeping.

Each year the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers hold their annual conference and awards dinner. The coveted LUCA Awards are regarded as the Oscars of the Bookkeeping World. They are judged by an external panel of judges and the results are awaited each year with eager anticipation.

Penelope and Lisa had the pleasure of attending this year's ICB LUCA Awards as guests of Senta by Iris. Senta is our practice management software and is core to the way we operate. It ensures that deadlines are met and that documents can be exchanged securely with our clients. We love how customisable the workflows are, meaning that we can tailor it to match our processes enabling us to uphold the high standards we aim to achieve.

LUCA Awards for Social Media Influencer and New Practice

This year, WILD Bookkeeping was honoured to be nominated in 2 categories: Social Media Influencer of the Year and New Practice of the Year. The standard of nominations was high and we were honoured to be included alongside other amazing ICB Bookkeepers, all of whom are worthy of praise.

We are delighted and humbled to announce that we won both categories!!!

Winner Crest for Social Media Influencer of the Year 2022

The Social Media Award is presented to the member that has used a social media platform in an innovative and creative manner to raise their profile and that of the ICB and the profession as a whole, demonstrating digital alchemy: engaging memorable content and outreach to potential clients, followers and businesses.

Our Bookkeeping Tips from the Beach have been so much fun to film and it is very gratifying to know they have been so well received. It is really important to us here at WILD Bookkeeping that clients are never afraid to ask questions. In fact we love them as it gives us the opportunity to educate and help business owners understand their numbers in even greater depth which in turn helps them to grow. If there is a topic you would like us to cover, then drop us a message!

Huge thanks go to Merrick for his unending patience editing the videos, straightening horizons and removing some of the noise from the howling gales that sometimes accompany the original recordings!

Winner Crest New Practice of the Year

The New Practice Award is presented to a practice that has held it's practice licence for less than 18 months and has demonstrated that it upholds the standards and ideals of ICB and has achieved significant success and established a solid reputation.

We had an amazing evening celebrating all that is good about our profession with our fellow ICB Bookkeepers. You really cannot ask for a better bunch of people. Everyone, whether a winner, nominee or not, deserves a mention. ICB Bookkeepers support and encourage each other the whole year through, so being able to celebrate together was a fitting way to bring our year to a close.

So what's next? As the year comes to a close, we have big plans for 2023. It is our mission to bring the joy and sense of freedom back into business ownership so that we can be our true and authentic selves. We want all business owners to know and understand their numbers and to not be afraid to ask the difficult questions. Together we will meet the wave and strive to overcome whatever challenges there may be to ensure that clients get the best solution possible for their business. So here's to another exciting year and the LUCA Awards 2023!
